My Rating : 4.5/5

As 24 years-old girl who looked forward to watch this film more than anything in this world, It is considered weird enough. Among my best friends, only 1 shared my passion for animation. The rest of them, i had to drag them to cinema to accompany me to watch this kind of film or i have to go alone (which i hate to do it). This love for animation is not necessarily come from my inner self . I like animation in the past but not really enthusiastic about it. If it is there, i will watch it, if it is not, nevermind, there’s plenty other stuff to watch. It is one of my older brothers (whom i called Angah) that really did a great job in dragging me into his animation maniac world. Now, in the year of 2014, I am considered as one of his influencees. From not so famous animation film like Open season or Paranorman to the independent animation film, i’ve seen and loved it all because of him.

Hiccup and Toothless
Hiccup and Toothless

If you think How To Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) will not surpass How To Train Your Dragon (2010), Think Again because to me they just did. As Hiccup successfully altered the way people (especially those who lived in his village called Berk) perception about dragon and how to handle them, the adventure did not just stop there. Hiccup continually learned about dragons through his adorable companion, Toothless. Hiccup once have been perceived as totally weirdo and not a Viking at all is now has been looked up by his fellow friends as a ‘Dragon Master’. While all of the villagers living harmoniously with a dragons under his father reign, Hiccup always disappeared with Toothless to venture new places until he find the end of the world. Little did he know, he will stumble with a group of people ( who called themselves as a dragon kidnapper). One of the dragon kidnappers, Eret told tale about Drago, the vicious and wicked dragon hunter. Eret also told Hiccup that the order to catch dragons came from Drago.

Hiccup and Toothless managed to escape from Eret and returned to Berk immediately. He met his father and try to enquire about Drago. When Hiccup mentioned ‘Drago’, His father immediately asked the whole villagers to hide and they should be preparing in the upcoming war. Hiccup try to reason with his father that war is not solution and he should let Hiccup discuss with Drago. As much as his father believe hiccup’s unconventional way, he did not believe Drago at all. He met him last times and almost got killed instantly. However, Hiccup could not take No as an answer and ran away with toothless right away before Berk managed to close its gate. In that Journey, Hiccup found his mother back. Her mother who was told by everybody that she got killed by a dragon is still alive. He has a mixed feeling about his mother until he found that his mother has been hiding in the isolated dragons habitat and spent her time learning about them for years. He may not be his ‘true’ son for his father but he is definitely his mother’s son. His admiration and Curiosity about dragon came from his own mother.

How to train your dragon 2 received almost similar rating (from Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and IMDB) with its predecessor film and has been praised by the film critics as ‘how the film sequel should be made’. [Spoiler] I felt sad when his father died though and how Hiccup blamed toothless for his death. He knew toothless under the trance of Dragon King to do so but he just cant help it. I shed my tears in both scenes. I dont want to but it’s just so heartbreaking. Anyway those sad scenes is quickly replaced by thrilling action scene where toothless challenged the dragon king and does not want to follow his order any more. That was one of the interesting moments in the film. How i felt after watched this film? It is worth my money. If you already watch How to train your dragon, dont wait anymore to watch it’s sequel. Go Now or else, you have to wait for 3 months for Dvdrip version in torrent.
