[HOLY SHIT, WE WON!!!!] – Germany Beats Argentina 1-0

Germany won yesterday and it seems so surreal. That winning goal by Gotze was so beautiful, it did make me cry. Anyhow, we fucking won. I’ve been waiting 8 years for this. Sorry for being so late to immerse in the Football world passionately but now, it seems all those sleepless nights have been paid off. We are Asian and because of the time zones, all matches in FIFA 2014 were scheduled in the middle of the night. I am not going to post any long review whatsoever, I’m here just to express my happiness and say thanks to Deutschland team for making this thing happened. It was indeed beautiful.
Here is my public apology to Gotze for underestimating you since the first match you appeared in the group match again Portugal. It was not my fault entirely because you did miss some of the passing and you seem off in field. Anyway, you proved me wrong. That particular goal is the reason we won and we didn’t end this world cup with penalty shoot-out.
To my bias in the team (captain o captain) Phillip Lahm, You are amazing as always. You are small (Don’t worry, in Asian countries, you quite tall! I can assure you) compared to others but man, you played strategically. You always managed to outsmart them and this height thing suits well to your advantage. I did cry when I know you got married at 2010 (not that I have any chance, I know that— am just being a delusional fangirl).
Congrats to Miroslav Klose for breaking the record of Top Scorer held by Ronaldo previously. It has been a great journey seeing you played on the field since 2006. You did extremely well in every game that you played and for that, you deserved the title.
For the other players, you guys are the best. None of this would happen without all of you. Sami Khedira, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mesut Ozil, Tony Kroos, Thomas Muller, Per Mertesacker, Manuel Neuer, Lukas Podolski, Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, Benedikt Howedes, Andre Schurrle and others who are not mentioned here because I forgot your name and too lazy to do some ‘google’.
Joachim Low, I have no other words for you except ‘You are the man!’.
If any of you missed the match and wanted to watch it, the torrent link is already been uploaded in the torrent site like Piratebay and Kickass. Please knock yourself out with some of the great match by Germany. If it was up to me, Germany vs. Portugal, Germany Vs. Ghana, Germany Vs. Algeria and Germany Vs. Argentina would have been my favorite match to repeat. It was thrilling and in the same time, scary (but in a good way). In my opinion, the disappointing performance by Germany is at quarter finals match againt France actually because I am kind of expected they would score more goals given the previous excellent results. Screw my comment on that, the stunning header by Hummels did advance the team to Semi Finals. For Germany Vs. Brazil, It was great seeing Germany destroyed Brazil 7-1. If you wanted to see 4 goals in 6 minutes, this is the match you are looking for. It is not in my recommendable list because I think it would have been different if Neymar is in the match. I know Germany is great in the team-work department but Neymar might manage to shake that factor. Oh, I forgot to mention about the match whereby Germany vs. United States. Hmmmmmm. No comment, I guess. I should re-watch it back to give any comment because when I watched it, the screen froze a few times. That is not a smart decision to watch that match online but what to do, the television is not available at that time. On the other hands, Internet Speed in Malaysia is very shitty and slow. It takes more than 5 minutes to reconnect back and next time I know, Muller already scored 1 goal against United States.

Running Man: Review of Episode 187

Running man already garnered their fans worldwide since 2010. If you ask people around 12-20 (that is so into KPOP), running man is not a strange world for them. I have been one of the RM fans since 2010. They created so many creative games and their sense of entertainment is no joke. Running man had 191 episodes already and continuing the show strongly until now. I may not actively watch running man lately due to my busy schedule and some of the episode is so boring that I can’t finish watching it. If you asked me what my favorite episode is, I can’t say. Among 191 episodes, there is some that I enjoyed but people find it boring and it goes vice versa. Today, I didn’t want to spazzing about my favorite episodes or my favorite member in the show. I just wanted to share how amazing Episode 187 is.
The theme of National College Festival is used by Team Running Man in this episode. They went to 7 Top universities in Korea and select 2 students from each institution to try the impossible in the mission of Crossing Han River. Those 7 universities are Dongguk University, Korea University, Sungshin’s Women University, Sogang University, Kyung Hee University, Konkuk University and Jungang University. Running Man Members initiate the mission by going to the mentioned university to recruit the students who can be part of their team. There are so many variety games and challenges that they did in order to ensure they did pick the best one among thousands of students. Why did I say to try the impossible in the above? That’s because they are going to cross Han River with a boat they made from unusual materials that didn’t used to build the boat.
This idea originally came from the episode 159 (couple or gold episode) when they have to made boat from materials given and cross the swimming pool. It is copied from other reality show overseas which I don’t know the name of that program. Running man did show the footage saying they follow the idea from the show. In that episode, the team is partnered up as a couple together with a guest. They all made a boat with a cupboard, plastic, cellophane tape and other materials given by the staff. After finished making the boat, they all set off to cross the pool team by team to record their time. The winner will be the one who took the shortest time to cross the pool. Each of them made a very distinctive shape of boat to differentiate them from other team. I personally like Junchi and JungIn boat because it shaped similarly with the boat and I can see that they felt secure when rowing it in. However, they are not the fastest one. The team that won this race is team Jaesuk-Kwangyu. Despite having the most unstable looking boat, they did row very fast to ensure they arrived to finish line without sinking. The boat maybe one of the factors to win the race but the speed of rowing the boat also contributes in the winning.
In the episode of 178, Running Man program beating the word of impossible once again by using the cupboard boat (that they themselves made) and try to cross the Han River in a time given. They gave a very great episode to end the year of 2013. The format changed on this particular episode where the Running Man Members against the Staff of Running Man. Running Man Members will try to win every game that the staff sets and if they did win, the punishment at the end of the game will be given to the staff. To cross Han River is not easy, if you see the size of Han River, you will say it is impossible to do it. The risk of sinking, the wind direction, the wave and you even might get exhausted in the middle of the river due to rowing the cupboard boat. I was right indeed; they did suffer all of it. One of the boats almost sinking, the wind direction kept stirring them to opposite direction, the big wave passed through the boat and they all look exhausted from rowing the boat endlessly. The amazing thing is they didn’t stop. They finished the race. They divided the running man members into 2 groups and them rowing those 2 boats endlessly. One of the boats manage to arrive within the time given by the program PD. The other boat though they have a rough start but boy, they still finished their race. They didn’t give up. The feeling of accomplishment is so overwhelming that they did cry because of it. They did cross Han River with a cupboard boat and how many people have done that? You tell me.
I would say that being in the show for 191 episodes did help them to build such amazing teamwork. They knew each other so well that even they can synchronize their rowing instantly. The chemistry between the members of Running Man is just awesome. When the recent episode of Running Man (well, not really recent because I just watching it yesterday) showing that they going to do another episode of crossing the Han River with man-made boat, I can’t contain myself. I downloaded the entire episode that I have left behind and start marathon all the episodes. Episode 187 does not disappoint me. I love it. I love how they managed to get 2 students onboard with the idea of crossing the Han River using recycle materials in this episode. They had to play game to determine who can choose the materials first. There are 7 materials given by the staffs and they can only use that material solely for building a boat (except plastic and cellophane tape to wrap it). They are no longer given a cupboard box like they got in the previous episode. Plastic Bottles, Tin Can, Basin, Ball, Balloon, Plastic Bag and blanket are the materials that they had to choose to create a boat. When Gary and Jihyo both got the worst material which are plastic bag and blanket to create boat, people kind of predicted that they are going to sink first.
Unfortunately, those people are wrong. Jihyo and Gary team managed to arrive earlier than that team who had good materials to build a boat. Jihyo proving once again that she’s the Ace among Running Man Members. She and her team arrived first despite having a blanket as a material. Gary’s Team came second and successfully builds a boat using a plastic bag that filled with air (manually). They did fill every single plastic bag without any air pump. Kwangsu’s Team could be in a third place but they got exhausted in the middle of Han River and rowing the boat a bit slower. At that time, Jaesuk’s team managed to cut them and arrived in a third place. Kwangsu’s team in the fourth place is not bad at all considering their sole material is balloon. They even had a hardship at the beginning because the balloon kept popping. The rest of Running Man Member like Jong Kook, Haha and Ji Suk Jin placed at 5, 6 and 7 irrespectively. This episode totally shows that nothing is impossible. You could have the worst material ever but if your mind set that you can do it, you will beat the odds. Gary who had both female members in his team still gets a second place compared to other team who had 2 male members in the team. It showed that gender differences should not be considered as a factor to win or to lose. You could have all guy members in the team and you still lose. Overall, I am really satisfied with this episode. Their commitment, teamwork and dedication are something that we all should admire.
Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) : Bollywood Film Review

Parineeti Chopra might not look like a typical Bollywood heroine but dude, she can act and she is brilliant in delivering her emotion on screen. I have been her Number 1 fan since I watched Ishaaqzade. Parineeti’s Portrayal as a Muslim girl named Zoya in that film is powerful and she did receive a special mention in the National Film Award of India. It is a kind of big deal in India to receive such award. For someone who don’t even go to acting school and graduated with triple Honours Degree (in Business, Finance and Economics) that’s not slightly related to performance act, you got to give her a big respect. She drew people’s attention in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’s Film. Although that film didn’t went crazy in Box Office India, people did remember her as one of the ladies. One of the film critics said that Parineeti managed to engage with her audience causing the other ladies in the film seems so forgettable. She did win several awards as a newcomer in Bollywood for her role in the film. After ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Ishaaqzade, Parineeti then continue experimenting with her role by acting as a modern, independent and liberal girl in the film of ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’. She was amazing in that film. As someone who kind of not really give a shit about marriage and thought sex as one of the necessity things to have, her role reflected more or less of whom I really wanted to be.
Hasee Toh Phasee is a film that I really look forward to watch in 2014 (aside from Gulaab Gang, Roy and Kil Dil). Parineeti said in her interview that this film offered a very challenging role to her. She did face difficulty doing the role, she admitted that. Of course, if you have seen her work before, you will not plant any doubt about her. She’s going to do it flawlessly. I am right, by the way. She nailed her role successfully. A critical reception over that film is totally leaned on the Parineeti’s performance as Meeta Solanki. I always love the fact that Parineeti can easily blend her chemistry with any co-actors that she ever worked with and she don’t let them over shine her. She let her acting flow and keeps the audience’s eyes fixated on her. In other words, you may remember who the hero was in the films, but you will end up telling people how amazing the heroine in that film. Her previous co-actors like Arjun Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sidharth Malhotra is really blessed to have a charismatic personality and strong presence. Otherwise, we may end up not remembering any of Parineeti’s co actors at all. *exaggerated much, Palah?
How difference is Hasee Toh Pahsee with other contemporary romance Bollywood is? Gosh, I don’t even know how to begin. First, the portrayal of Parineeti Chopra as Meeta Solanki is a top notch act. Meeta Solanki is a smart girl with a vision. She ran away from home right after she stole one of her sister’s Dowries for the wedding. Upon that event, her father had a heart attack on that day. Since then, nobody even said her name, her absent as one of the daughters in Solanki family goes unnoticed and she is forever shunned by her family. She earned her PhD in Chemical Engineering after living in abroad for almost 7 years and currently in need of fund to complete her project. In this story, Meeta Solanki is shown to always has a special spot in her father’s heart. The story begins with how the young Meeta always experimented with many things and ended up seen as troublesome kid by the mess she created. She always being scolded by her uncle but her father embraced her playfulness and curiosity over things. He didn’t get angry and always approve of her youngest daughter brightness. Meeta grew up in the conservative culture (though she did has a father who is willing to bend any rule for her). She constantly is being told by her uncle that she didn’t behave like a girl her age and does not even look like a girl at all. Adding to the pressure on Meeta that she has other sisters who look like a normal and ordinary Indian girl. Meeta return to India after 7 years abroad and ask his sister, Karishma Solanki to help her reconcile with her father. She wanted to apologize to her father.
Karishma Solanki is portrayed by Adah Sharma as one of Meeta’s sisters. She does not want to handle Meeta at all as she already is in so much pressure for her upcoming wedding. She will get married to Nikhil Bhardwaj (by Sidharth Malhotra) in a few days and Meeta is seen as someone who could not get a better time to return. She couldn’t take a risk that Meeta might have other scheme to steal in the wedding as she already done it before. She called her fiancée, Nikhil to solve this matter by himself. She didn’t even tell who meeta is for her. She just wanted Nikhil to do whatever he could to make Meeta didn’t come to her house before and during the wedding. Karishma portrayal by Adah Sharma is pretty much okay. I have nothing to like or hate about her. She is a bombshell girl that guys could go crazy over. Her relationship with Nikhil started as love (I am quite confident that it’s a lust actually) at the first sight. After 7 years, they still are together. I am pretty sure that they are not in love. They just love the 7 years relationship and how much they complete each other. If you are pretty like Karishma, you don’t really say no if a guy like Nikhil chase you, right? You would just say okay and see how far the relationship will take you. When this happened, it causes so much misery in their relationship. They fought almost every day and then, they make up. The same routine repeats itself each day. Both are afraid to break up because they may not have chance to find a perfect companion again. Perfect here meant ‘good looking, rich and came from a good family’.
Nikhil met Meeta for the first time in a café somewhere around the town where he lived. Karishma told Nikhil to handle it however he likes. She didn’t even introduce Meeta as her sister to Nikhil and keep referring her as a guest. Nikhil suddenly remembered that he met Meeta 7 years ago at the wedding where he and Karishma hit on each other for the first time. They met when Meeta try to elope and her shirt is hooked on the coil wire. Nikhil then help Meeta escaped from it and asked Meeta where she’s running off. Meeta told Nikhil the location and he helped her carried her baggages until some taxi stopped to send her to airport. That’s how they met 7 years before. Nikhil met Meeta first before Karishma. However, Meeta’s appearance and facial expression recently is really weird and it freaks Nikhil out. It turns out later that Meeta have a tendency to swallow many anti depressant pills to keep her stable, well functions and to avoid from facing any complicated emotion naturally. Later, Nikhil found out that Meeta is Karishma youngest sister. He could not bear the fact that Meeta is treated that way and brought her to his home. Meeta is introduced as one of friends from Nikhil’s best buddy. Nikhil learned so many things about Meeta and the truth behind why she steals from the wedding 7 years ago. The more time they spend time with each other, the more they realized that they did fall in love with each other. Meeta confessed her love to Nikhil and asking him to elope with her because she assured that Nikhil will be miserable in life by marrying to her sister. However, Nikhil couldn’t do it as it will be a betrayal to Karishma and they did spend 7 years try to maintain the relationship.
This film seriously began with how hilarious parineeti’s face when she made her ‘Meeta 2.0’ as Nikhil would call it. Meeta 2.0 will appear right after the normal Meeta swallow a dozen of her anti depressant pills. You will laugh your ass off. When it reaches to the scene when Meeta bumped into her relatives, that’s when you realize there’s tears streaming down your cheek. When Meeta was insulted by her sister and uncle for coming home just to rob them again, you can sense her helplessness. She could not explain why she did it and even she wanted to, nobody would fucking listen. When her uncle slapped infront of her relatives that is when her father appeared. Her father cried and asked why her daughter is being hit. The scene of how Meeta’s father defended her infront of her entire family is so touching. He didn’t care about the money that Meeta stole from him as he claimed it did belong to her at some point. Meeta is his daughter. This particular scene really breaks my heart. It showed how a father didn’t care at all about the money and just glad that his daughter returns to home. The wedding event proceeds as usual even Meeta begged Nikhil not to do it. Meeta then said goodbye to her father on Karishma’s wedding day and planning to return to China to complete her project. Karishma found out about the two of them and confronted Nikhil about it. She told Nikhil that marriage would not be the same as the relationship. There is no on and off relationship. When Karishma called off the marriage, Nikhil run from the altar only to find that Meeta already waited for him at the back gate where they first met before.
Actually, Meeta did return to India to get more funds for her project from her father. For Meeta, she had one principle only. She will steal but only from her father. She knew her father will forgive her unconditionally. She then regrets it when she knew that the day she stole from her father, her father’s having a heart attack. That’s why she asked Nikhil assistance in the first place. They are spending so much time together on planning how to get more funds. In that few days, they realized that they loves each other. There is one scene that I found very sweet is when Nikhil disturbed Meeta’s father in the middle of the night. It’s later revealed that Meeta’s really missing her father and wanted to see him even from afar. That’s when Nikhil wake Meeta’s father up and asking him to go on the rooftop with him. Nikhil acted as he was concerned about the wedding and the groom procession. Meeta did catch a glimpse of her father on rooftop with Nikhil’s help. I actually like Sidharth more in this film compare to student of the year film. Sidharth in this film is more mature and revealing his other side of being an actor. He’s insecure, depress in the sense of wanting to make more money, coward in voicing his opinion (even when he’s right) and he’s afraid to follow his own path. All his life, he always is being told to do this and that. Parineeti may contributes ¾ for this film but Sidharth completed it with ¼ from his role. Their chemistry as Meeta and Nikhil really touch the core of my heart.
Overall, this could be my new favorite romantic film all the time after Barfi. It got all the right flavors in some romantic film could not offer. The soundtrack of the film is just awesome. I really like modern beat hindi songs. I like all songs in this film (from Manchala (which is freaking sad song) to a very sassy and feisty sound like ‘Shake it like shammi’, ‘Punjabi Wedding Song’ and ‘Drama Queen’).
